They say that cooking and creating feasts tend to run in families or be our heritage and so it is with the Bigotti family. From their Tuscan roots in Italy to the first family restaurant in Oakland in 1971, Marcello’s, there is a long history of luscious food preparation and the warmth of Italian cooking. Marcello’s was a very successful Oakland restaurant, the restaurant later moved to Orinda for years where it held wide acclaim, and then to Danville in 1982, where it finally closed its doors to the disappointment of all who loved their food.
The Bigotti family opened Il Pavone in 1991 and have kept the tradition of home-cooked Tuscan food alive in Contra Costa County all these years. The restaurant business and creating incredible food runs in the Bigotti blood, three generations of the Bigotti family are involved with the Il Pavone restaurant in Walnut Creek. Creating luscious food and making you feel at home is definitely a family affair.
